She aspires to be a pediatric physician and writer. Aparna founded Caduceus in the fall of 2018. She envisioned this publication as a way for herself and others to keep up with current events in medicine, develop opinions on complex socio-political subtleties within medicine, and make time amidst busy premedical schedules to regularly write. Aparna is deeply interested in the collaborative efforts between the humanities and medical fields to further enrich patient care. She believes that the study of literature is particularly beneficial to future physicians. She believes that although both fields seem to approach the nature of man from opposite ends, it is in their intersections (for example, how they each closely engage with the human condition) that we see the future of healthcare, exemplified by emerging narrative medicine and humanities and medicine programs at top-tier U.S. medical schools. In her free time, Aparna likes to walk to Strand to pick up a book (or two), try out new foods around NYC, and FaceTime her
